Do these shorts cover my upper thighs enough?

Last summer I was very pregnant.  Well, I felt very pregnant.  Enough that I didn’t buy any clothes other than skirts and dresses to wear.  So I completely avoided the whole “shorts” trend that really seemed to come back last summer.  Before that I felt as though I had been living in capris for 5 years!

This summer I realized I needed to update my summer wardrobe a bit.  I didn’t want to go overboard for while I had lost all the baby weight my body wasn’t quite the same (seriously, what is with that?) and had the dream that I think most woman have after having kids with the thoughts of “oh, I will totally get my old body back someday!”  So I decided I needed one or two good pairs of shorts to get me through summer.

Ummm, has anyone else gone shorts shopping?  Those things are either what I call “old lady shorts” (sorry anyone who likes those, just not my thing!” or WAY too short of shorts that don’t cover my upper thigh fat pocket. :)

Finally one day before class I hit White House Black Market.  I don’t go there often for their prices are a bit higher than I like to spend on everyday items but had hope that they would have some summer gear on their sale rack (which makes their clothing at a price I am willing to pay with a bit more ease).  I was thrilled when I saw a table full of shorts that looked, well, normal length (not too short and not too long) and they were on sale for 39.99!  I happily tried some shorts on while the wonderful sales associate helped find me some cute tanks to go with (from the sale rack…loved her!) and was happy to see that they fit PERFECT!

I walked away with two pairs of shorts and a couple of cute tanks to match.  And I didn’t completely break the bank.

For anyone interested, see below for one of the pairs I got.  Best news?  They are still on sale for 39.99. I am a bit tempted to snag the linen blend version but know that I really don’t wear shorts that often so two pairs will easily get me by.

I really do love them.  They fit me very well (I am petite so my legs are not exactly long) and flatter my body so much more than the other shorts I have seen out there.

Has anyone else ran into issues finding shorts that work for them during the shorts season?
